"He will provide the way and the means, such as you could never have imagined. Leave it all to Him, let go of yourself, lose yourself on the Cross, and you will find yourself entirely."

Asher: Shirt, Pants, Shoes {similar}
Amelia: Shirt JBF sale $3, Jeggings, Boots {similar}

It was so chilly outside that I decided just to do a pic of the kids inside, but then Amelia insisted on taking a picture of Aiden and I by the front door. It's blurry and the angle is awful but I am so thankful for this picture of me and my mini me. He's getting so tall and before long will be looking me in the eyes. Such a sweet young man he is.

My top {similar} is Ann Taylor Loft via Thredup. Jeans are Kensie, Loafers Old Navy, Blazer from Kohls. And the dead plant is well because being on the front porch I completely forgot about it.

{seven qts} FDR who kind of looks like my dad from the 80s

Sunday, November 19, 2017

1. First I have to say HALLELUJAH it's Thanksgiving Break! No waking up early, no making lunches before breakfast...I could not be happier. Every time we have a break at our school I immediately become jealous of home schooling families that this is everyday life for them. Then by the end of the week that jealousy dissipates 😏 J/K
I really love having my kids home and this week I always prepare lots of fun things to do and this year will be no different.

2. Last week was a ball of crazy/hectic life going on. Our school, unlike many others, instead of giving the kids an easy week crams in tons of things due. One of those things is a book project for the 5th graders where they study a person in History. Asher's was Franklin Roosevelt.

They all dress up as their person, have a small display and give a speech as you walk through the cafeteria. It's really one of my favorite things the school does. Here was Aiden's last year.

Hilarious enough, after Asher got all dressed up I couldn't help but laugh...he seriously looked just like my Dad from the 80s. So funny!

We were super proud of him and how much hard work he put into this project.

3. I'm hosting Thanksgiving this year and was shocked at how hard it is to buy a turkey. We are having about 25 people over so I knew it needed to be big but some of those big turkeys...no lie...freaked me out. So after debating in the store do I get one 26 pounder or two 10ish pounders I went with the 2 10ish pounders. Hopefully it's enough...

4. My kids were the ones who really wanted to host Thanksgiving at our house this year. They just love being home with all their things. We are very blessed that almost all of our family (all of our immediate family) lives within a 30 mile radius, so we never really have to travel for the holidays. So because it was their idea I have decided to make them in charge of cleaning the house. What a nice mom I am 😊

5. I did it...I bought a new Christmas tree...and tree collar...and already put it up. After weeks of debating, yesterday while at bowling with Aiden I got an email from Michael's saying the tree I wanted was 70% off. Cameron is SO over hearing about this tree he was all JUST BUY THE TREE!!!!! So I did. And I put it up. And I put up my other 2 trees.

And I took this fabulous picture of it 😂😂😂

Is it weird that I am hosting Thanksgiving with 3 Christmas trees adorning my house, maybe. Do I care? Not really. It feels all nice and cozy.

6. Last Saturday to celebrate Veteran's Day, Aiden, Amelia and I stopped but an event the town was having at our local park.

Each flag was dedicated to a local Veteran. It was really cool. To add the to dramatic effect it was super windy so all the flags were waving.

7. Today we are off to church then going to see the Justice League movie. I hope your Sunday is great! Happy Thanksgiving Week!

Me: Gap dress via Thredup {kind of similar}. Leggings from Old Navy...currently my favorite. Shoes, old, from Zulily. I know you can't really tell but they are so cute and comfy {similar}
Amelia: Dress Old Navy via JBF sale...another steal, I think it was $5 {similar style}. Boots Children's Place via TJMaxx.

It was just the three of us at Mass this week. Both boys had been assigned the Saturday Vigil Mass however, Asher's baseball team was playing in a Blue Santa Charity Tournament and he had a game during Mass so him and Cameron couldn't make it. I was very glad we went to Mass Saturday because Sunday was so busy. We woke up early and I took Aiden to a bowling tournament while Cam and Ash went back up to the fields for baseball.

After bowling we met up for lunch and headed back to the fields for more baseball. The team ended up winning first place after a long day!

And if that wasn't enough excitement, Asher ended up pitching a perfect game, which if you are a baseball fan you know that's a big deal! He was so excited and we were so proud of him. No more baseball now until the Spring but don't fret...basketball is right around the corner 😉

{seven qts} life's dilemmas

Friday, November 10, 2017

1. I have now had laryngitis for 2 weeks. To say that I'm over it would be the understatement of the century. At this point I have completely forgotten what my real voice sounds like and have almost given up hope on ever talking normal again. slightly dramatic eh?  In all seriousness if you have any advice on how to help my situation it would be greatly appreciated. I've been to the doctor, been on steroids and at this point I really don't want to go back just to be exposed to all other fun illnesses out there this time of year. And seriously...yelling at kids is no fun when every other word cuts out 😉

2. This is beyond ridiculous but I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to put up my Christmas tree. I'm trying to hold off as long as I can but every store I go in has all their decorations up and it's so hard. Plus I really want a new tree, which is also ridiculous, but I'm trying to use all my will power not to buy a new tree. I have my eye on one at Michael's. It's beautiful...tall, green, full and flocked. It's a dream tree. Cameron is so over me talking about it he just wants me to buy it but is it crazy? Just another non important detail of my life I am fussing over at this moment. To buy a tree or not buy a tree????

3. As I sat down to plan our next coming months this morning, I am shocked at how quickly our weekends filled up and even more shocked how quickly our ski trip will be here. Every.single.week. I put on my to do list "pull out ski gear and make a list of what we need" and every.single.week. I fail to do said chore. I'm not sure if I'm just a glutton for punishment and want that feeling right at the end where I am rushing around trying to get everything done but something has got to give. I just keep imagining our magical snow is and how much fun we are going to have and let that guide me that it will all work out.

4. The kid's school pictures came home this week and they are adorable.

However I quickly realized that after spending a small fortune on pictures I did not get Asher's. So after sitting on the phone with the picture company for about 30 minutes we realized that I filled out the online form wrong. I mean really people?! I'm on a roll lately 😉 So they refunded me what I spent and I had to reorder them.

5. Cameron is in his busy season at work and we are seeing him less and less at home in the evenings. This is the first year that it's actually going pretty well and I chalk that up to all the kids being older. For the most part, our evenings are not too hectic unless we get home late from an activity and the boys can now see when I am feeling stressed and rushed and instead of feeding into that, they are helping me out more. Big kids are the bomb.com 👊

6. Thieves oil is saving our lives I'm pretty sure. Every morning I rub it along the kids spines before they go to school and so far they have all been well. I also send a Thieves oil hand sanitizer in their lunch bags and encourage them to use it before lunch. Anything to help keep away the germs at this point.

7. Last Friday, Amelia had her 5 year well check

35lbs (10%)
34" (60%)

All was well on that front. I can't believe my little lady is 5! Seems so crazy how fast time goes. Next year she will be in kinder and gone all the time. Not quite sure what I will do with myself...

Happy Weekend!

tuesday tales

Tuesday, November 7, 2017

Good morning Tuesday...well almost afternoon.

Good afternoon Tuesday

This week is Red Ribbon Week at the kids school and in all honestly I am not completely on board with this week. For our family it's all about introducing illegal drug use to my 6th grader who honestly has no idea about that. Yesterday he freaked out when he saw that Walgreens is a drug store. Not sure if this is our fault as parents for completely dropping the ball but I am a little bit over society forcing our children to grow up. Nonetheless to promote not using drugs everyday is a theme day where the kids get to dress up. I seriously cannot understand how all this goes together but again...maybe it's just me.

Anywayyyyyyy today was Nerd Day so pretty much Aiden dressed up as himself and brother combined.

Cameron and I thought this was quite hilarious and even more hilarious is that neither of the boys realized it 😉

After dropping off the kids I went to get my car washed and then tried out our local grocery store's curbside service. Annnnd I think I likey. Yesterday I ordered the things I need, selected a time slot and then today pulled up and voila, my groceries came out. It was then that I decided to come home, plan my Thanksgiving menu, make that grocery list and go ahead and order the groceries for pickup the week of Thanksgiving. Just in case the time slots go fast I want to be prepared.

Speaking of Thanksgiving...I really really REALLY want to put up my Christmas tree before. It's taking everything I have not to put it up right now. Yesterday to tame my desires I decorated the mantle for Fall.

I'm not going to lie...I still want to put up the tree.

"To live is to change, and to be perfect is to have changed often."
-Bl. John Henry Cardinal Newman

Non affiliate links because I'm not that fancy yet

Me: Dress Old Navy. I just bought it a couple of weeks ago so it's still available
Shoes I picked up on clearance from Gap outlet. Here's similar
Amelia: I picked up her dress at the JBF sale for $4!
And the boys are both wearing what they wear almost every Sunday. Asher's pants are the best slacks we've ever had. You can find them here

Oh how I love this time change. We all woke up refreshed, had plenty of time to get to church, no one complained or was tired at church and then we all went to bed early. This is my favorite ever time of year. A good family friend is in town from California so while Cameron went in to the office for a couple of hours (it's his busy time of year at work) the kids and I headed over to my parents to visit. It was nice and after lunch we came home to catch up on a few things (like laundry) and then watch the Cowboys play.
So much going on with only 2 weeks until the kids are out for Thanksgiving Break AND I so graciously volunteered to host Thanksgiving at our house this year. Now if it would only get cooler so it actually felt like fall...

halloween 2017

Friday, November 3, 2017

I love Halloween. I just think all of it is so much fun and look forward to celebrating it with my kids every year.
This year we started the day off with a parade at Amelia's preschool. She chose to be Fancy Nancy just for school and man did she look adorable.

Honestly the old me would have DIED at the fact that she didn't want to wear her real costume. I know that sounds insanely insane but let's just be real...I was a wee bit insanely insane at one time 😉 Now I just don't care. I realize how unimportant details can be and as long as our kids are happy then I'm happy.

I  mean seriously how cute is she!

After all that fun I headed straight to the doctor because I have been so sick for about a week with cold stuff. Ugh...I feel awful. The doctor told me what ever mom loves to hear "It's just a virus" and I was off to grab some medicine that isn't helping. Woe is me.

After resting some, I was off to pick up the kids. And then it started to pour down rain. When I picked up the boys they were so sad but I assured them that maybe just maybe it wouldn't be raining when we went trick or treating.

And you know what...it wasn't.

Big baby, Moana and a Pokemon Trainer.

We met up with my sister, brother in law and niece and off we went to get some candy.

Our neighborhood doesn't hand out candy so we always go downtown. All the houses are decorated on Main Street and it feels like we are in a movie. We love it.

The Big baby was quite a hit. I had to get my picture with our town celebrity 😂

Hope everyone had a very fun and spooky Halloween!

And cheers to the weekend!!!!
