Better late then never right?!

Our very first Thanksgiving at Escondido House was perfect! I mean it really couldn't have been any better. The whole day I was so nostalgic thinking to the year before. I remember walking around a cold barely built home picturing all the hustle and bustle that the next year would bring. I could see the kids watching the parade eating warm cinnamon rolls while I finished prepping food and Cameron cleaned up the outside. And that's exactly what happened :)

Sister's dress deserved it's own picture because it was just too cute!

After everyone arrived things got loud and fun fast! I had all intentions of taking pictures of all the food but only did of the appetizers. I wanted to let everyone know that all the dishes I made from my Thanksgiving Menu were delicious!!!!

One of my favorite things we did this year was a handprint turkey drawing contest. It was all Aiden's idea and he even worked to earn money to buy prizes for 1st-3rd place. All the drawings were great!

After very careful consideration Aiden chose Uncle Mike's Turkey {far bottom left in pic above} as the winner. Asher won 2nd and Cameron won 3rd. Oh and I forgot to add there were no names on the pictures so he went by his favorite drawing only. Needless to say Asher was more then thrilled to get picked for 2nd ;)

After a late night watching football we all slept in Friday and just hung out around the house that morning. Cameron and I have a tradition of Black Friday being a date day/night for us. So we dropped off the kids and went shopping! Yes it was crazy out there {and rainy} but it's really amazing how little that bothers you when it's just the 2 of you. We could have cared less and had the best time. We finished all our Christmas shopping and even bought a couple of things for ourselves. We finished the evening with a dinner and movie!

Saturday, Cameron's dad came to town. I picked up the kids from my parents, came home and we started putting up the tree.

It was really nasty outside {again} so we spent the day indoors. Aiden had to alter serve that evening so we went to church to celebrate the 1st Sunday of Advent.

Sunday we woke up slowly, Papaw surprised us with donuts and I decided it was the perfect time to get our Christmas cards addressed.

I just love our card this year! So simple and so pretty. I used our family pictures since I am no longer on Facebook no one sees our pictures like they use to ;)

After putting out a few more decorations we got dressed and headed to Papaw's favorite restaurant, PF Changs for an early lunch.

The kids were being nuts!

After lunch, Papaw headed back home and Cameron headed to bed. Over the weekend he had caught a bad cold and felt awful. So to keep the house quit I loaded up the kids and took them to see the Good Dinosaur.

It was okay. Not really my favorite Disney was really sad and kinda slow. The kids liked it but Asher had said so many times since we've seen it "man that was a sad movie."

Overall our Thanksgiving weekend was pretty great. It was literally what I have imagined and been picturing in my mind for the last year. I am just still so overwhelmingly thankful for this life I have :)

All about Christmas on the blog this week!!!!!

Oh and I chopped off my hair!
