{Kirchoff travel diaries} New Mexico Ski trip

Saturday, January 12, 2019

We've decided to try and make a ski trip an annual vacation for us over the winter break holiday. Our favorite time to go is between Christmas and New Years. Last year when we went there was no snow but this year Mother Nature was very kind and there was snow. Lots of snow! We had planned to leave on Dec 28 and drive straight there but after chatting it over we decided to leave on the 27th and drive about halfway to Lubbock and stay the night. Since we got to Lubbock around 4pm we checked in the hotel and then went bowling.

1. I'm not one to make's more of a general plan and to do list in my world. For some reason that always just works better for my brain ;) So here ya go!

2. While I'm not a resolutions lady I do love picking a word of the year. This year my word is Love and here's the story of of how I chose it. It's a good one :)

3. I did Jen Fulwiler's saint generator and got St.Veronica which I am very excited about! Can't wait to learn more about here this year.

word of the year

Hello friends!

Has 2019 been good to you yet? Yesterday we drove in from New Mexico and had the worst weather driving experience of our life. We were fine...just trucking along when all of a sudden freezing rain hit us and before we knew it the roads were completely covered in ice, our windshield wipers were frozen so they couldn't even clean the windows and we were forced to drive 20 miles an hour for 4 hours. Our 11 hour car drive turned into 14 and we pulled into our driveway at 2am. Throughout the drive I prayed. I prayed harder and more then I think I ever have in my life. I just wanted to get home safe so I could love on my family more. That's when my word of the year came to me

It is almost Christmas!

And I can hardly believe it...really. Man this last year went by so fast. Every year I feel like I say that but this year it really seems true. The kids had 3 days of school with two of those being big test days for the boys. Let's just say I am glad we are done with that ;)

Last weekend Amelia performed in her school's rendition of the Nutcracker.
